Big update #1


Wasgood 0.54 people, this is the very epic launch of Rogue Malfunction 0.4, a pretty major update, like a whole 6mb type of big.  i just wanted to make the game a tiny bit of fun before i actually add content, i have a whole lotta mechanics done right now and can (hopefully) start making levels and content in the future.

(kinda) bad news tho: The time between updates will increase exponentially, since i actually want to add stuff, and developing games takes a long time.

Okay now for the patch notes (brace yourself)

FIXED BUGS:

  • Can't switch weapons or else they'll get stuck on reloading animation (just thought it was worth mentioning although you cant even equip the other weapon yet)
  • Combat music stopping while there are still enemies in the area (see improvements)
  • Weapon now doesn't clip into the wall

IMPROVEMENTS:

  • Made some areas a room where you have to kill all the enemies in order to progress. (this also fixes the Combat music issue)
  • Tweaked the post-processing a tiny bit (You shouldn't get flashbanged every time you look at a light now)
  • Ambient Occlusion is now baked and hopefully visible
  • Added a station which you get near for upgrading the player instead of it being a button
  • Added a button for closing the upgrade menu.
  • Hit sounds are now a thing (simple for normal hit, ping on headshot, you should check it out)
  • Added a sound when you can't purchase an upgrade.
  • You can now press F to collect all metal around you.

MORE CONTENT / GAMEPLAY OPTIONS

  • The first (and only) level is now longer
  • Added some new upgrades to play around with.
  • Enemies now drop metal → you magnet the metal → you buy upgrades.
  • Try magneting an enemy projectile ;)
  • Added Scary Terry
  • Added more material types
  • Added a sick ass hacker screen (this will all make sense in like 2 years)

KNOWN BUGS:

  • Enemy projectiles will sometimes just not spawn.
  • The magnet is a very janky tool, i'm actively working on it.
  • If you look directly at a projectile you're controlling, it will come to you and explode in your face (which is kinda funny)

uhh yeah so i guess thats about it, this was a long list, but it should make the game actually a tiny bit fun to play, cya.
